least complicated setup, best native Delphi integration, least bureaucratic overhead, ideally "set up and forget" until I need it So, I'm a bit lost at this point and I couldn't find any good videos that show off or teach the differences between these three options, so I don't really know what would be the best and easiest-to-setup system for me. Of these, I've only heard of Subversion and Git (really only HEARD about them - not enough to have any insight) and the only thing I've ever used (passively, by downloading a software release or something) is Github - but I don't know if that can work with (or rather interface with) Delphi's "Git" option, not whether this would be the best & easiest way for me. Now, I have done some quick research and found that Subversion, Mercurial and Git are supported by Delphi natively. and so I've come to think that it might also be useful for single developer to use version control in order to have continuous backups, milestones etc. However, I've screwed myself with this twice now, losing a few hours' work due to a VCL issue that couldn't be undone and Delphi's rudimentary "background saving" feature somehow didn't catch or cover these changes. I've got to confess I've never actually used a version control system with Delphi as all my projects have been single-developer up to this point and my method simply was to make a copy of the project folder in Windows Explorer as a backup whenever I remembered to.
